Something Better
Do you ever have an experience where something occurs like seeing an object, hearing a song or having a conversation and then something else occurs which appears related to that first incident with the object, song, and/or conversation?
Well, I love coffee!! And I look forward every morning to having my cup of coffee to start my day!
On a recent day, after my morning coffee, quiet time and breakfast, I headed out to shop. While shopping at a local store, I noticed that some items had been 'marked down' to 1/2 the original price. One of the items was a coffee maker. I remember thinking, "That's a great price on the coffee maker, but currently, I don't need one".
The next morning, I turned on my coffee maker for my morning coffee, while I got ready. When returning downstairs to get my coffee, I discovered that there was no coffee in the glass decanter. I assumed immediately that I had not turned on the coffee maker. However, I then discovered that I had turned it on but the machine was cold, not hot and therefore not working. My coffee maker was no longer functional and I needed a new coffee maker!!!!
My thoughts returned immediately to the discounted coffee maker that had been brought to my attention the day before! I realized that was a "sign" from God that something was about to happen.
Yes, I have these experiences daily! Some might say, "It's just a coincidence". However, for me, it's a reminder that I am very loved and He is always looking out for me to offer me "something better"!
Yes, my new coffee maker is smaller than my old one which caused me to think that I had mistakenly purchased it too quickly and impulsively when I returned to the store the next day. After removing the coffee maker from the box and using it the first time, I realized it was the perfect amount of morning coffee. Initially, I remember being hesitant to transition to something new and wanting to return the discounted item to purchase one exactly like my old one. But in the end, I realized that transitioning to something new and making a change with something to which I had become accustomed, was actually something that I liked better.
Yes, in the end, the Something Better was the Best for me!!

This happens to me all the time! I have learned to be less impulsive and wait on God because He knows better - and He's fun! What a great post!
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought at first that I had been too impulsive as I agree, I am a "get er done" personality usually. However, this was a perfect lesson for me to be more comfortable with transitioning to something new and different. That's where HE has me this year, being willing to transition to something new and different! Thanks for feedback
