Destiny

Yesterday, we learned of the sudden death of a famous sports figure, Kobe Bryant, a member of his family and other prominent people from an aviation related crash. Death can come as the result of a prolonged illness with some prior knowledge or unexpectedly without any preparation. Either way, death can bring extreme loss and grieving and we are saddened.

Death can come in many forms followed by different forms of grieving. Having witnessed many situations where there was the death of a dream, a parent's dream for their child who was born with a severe disability and/or a family's dream for a family member who experienced a debilitating condition, etc.

Life is very precious and every life has great value and beauty. How we view life, beauty, and the value of a person can be reflected in how we "see" the person or the situation to include what "filter we see through".  Knowing our 'identity, purpose, and destiny' is crucial for all.

The butterflies live life with 4 stages. They begins life as an egg, that evolves to a caterpillar, that creates a chrysalis, with metamorphosis to a butterfly. As an adult, they may live from one week to a year. Observation leads one to believe, they know their purpose and proceed to live their lives fully and for what they are created. I like to imagine that when they have their wings and are able to fly and soar for the first time, that it must be exhilarating!!!

Every moment of life is important and should not be wasted. Knowing our purpose, that we are significant, have a gift/s, and a destiny can totally change the 'view we see' every day. Then  supporting others to envision that view of themselves can launch them into a place of helping to transform those in their pathway and the multiplication begins!!!

The sports figure who died yesterday, appears to have lived every moment to the fullest, learning from situations and mistakes with his chosen sport, with his family, etc. and moving forward to fulfill the purpose and destiny for which he was created.

Those with a special need, debilitating condition, etc., all have gift/s and a purpose which may not easily be seen. However, when seen, it should be encouraged, to help that individual 'soar with wings like the butterflies'!

Who are you, do you know your identity? What is/are your gift/s, purpose, and destiny?
Pursuing the answers and learning the truth can and will change your life, and your destination.
You are valued, significant and loved.

"All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be."
Psalm 139:16

  2. Thank you for sharing how precious each life is and the importance of knowing our gifts and purpose. I really appreciate your heart for those with disabilities. I can relate because of my experience growing up with a special needs brother. It is a message that needs to be heard!
